Thank you.User Manual for Serif MoviePlus X6 Video Editing Software for Windows Click to enlarge the pictureĬontents of the user manual for the Serif MoviePlus X6 Video Editing Software Here are some other videos which you may like or find helpful, even though it's not a tutorial the 'Making of Iron Man Featurette' may also help you. If you have any questions leave them in the comments below and I'll get back to you. I hope you enjoyed this video and found it helpful. The last thing you're going to do is change this video groups blend mode to OVERLAY and there you go - a well colour corrected video which is no longer grey - instead the grass is greener and the logo is gold. Bring the brightness down to zero and up the contrast by about ⅓ I chose 36.5%. Check out the colours, looking very different to when we started - but it's a bit too bright and over exposed, so drag this video track into the above video group and change that groups brightness and contrast by going back to the video effects and selecting brightness and contrast. Now that's done, click on the track name and change the blend mode from normal to DODGE. The last effect we'll add is a GAUSSIAN BLUR to even things out. What that this has done is make the lines and groves more visible and detailed. Then add another effect by scrolling to UNSHARPEN MASK and dragging it to the video. Drag the slider down just under ¼ - I chose 17.5. It's pre-set to 100% which is why it looks so alien and purple. Click on the pasted video and select GALLERIES VIDEO EFFECTS.

Click on the DODGE track and press CTRL+V (paste) the ORIGINAL footage will be pasted - Again delete the audio. And pressing F11 for a new video group and renaming that to OVERLAY. Now we are going to add a new video track by pressing F9 and renaming it to DODGE. Notice there are more colours and the logo has more gold. Now I've unmuted the ORIGINAL and you can already see a difference. Then clicking on the track name, you'll notice the opacity of this is 100%, change the blend mode to MULTIPLY.

On PROPERTIES change the opacity of the clip itself down half way - I chose 49.5%. I've muted the ORIGINAL so we can see what we're doing. Click on the original footage and press CTRL+C (Copy) and on the MULTIPLY track CTRL+V (Paste) and delete the audio. What you're going to do is rename this video track to ORIGINAL and not touch this original clip. I'm going to mute the audio of the clip because it's not important. You want to colour correct your footage because everything needs to look the way it should whether it be colourful and warm or dark and saturated. Take a look at the footage I shot, it's quite grey and flat with not much colour and I am just going to trim it. To start, double click on the 'import media' box and chose your clips you want colour correcting and simply drag them to the timeline. This method uses a similar process you would a photograph with layers and blend modes.
